Just wanted to announce that in recognition for cheerfully greeting new members before the mods had a chance, we've decided to make East Hill a moderator. She was making us look bad, so now she's our official greeter.

Chipcom seems like he would make a good bouncer at a bar. A gay bar.

I've been wondering when you'd get around to doing that ... I noticed some time ago that she's always in the Introduction thread welcoming people.

Thank you all :D .

I will behave myself, and even though it's tempting to make chipcom bring in the trolleys, I will go ahead and do it myself, as starting at the bottom is a good way to learn!

Hey, what are you doing down here? Get back up at the top of the site. Who's watching your post?

One of the most pleasant things aout BF is the dedicated introductions forum that isn't a ghost town. Good luck and here's hoping many more follow the example.

Congrats, East Hill; indeed a job you do so well. I remember back a few years ago when I joined BF not getting a reply in the introductions area and moved onto MTB and Road where there was a good deal more action back then.

It's a pretty cool thing to get the greeting; must be a west coast thing as I look around and see my neighbors door mats that say "go away" and "beware killer cat inside"...although one of them said "nice underwear" :D

We're going to have find you a couple more gears with all those duties on your shoulders! ;)

Diet rootbeer for EVERYONE  If you buy you're own, of course (I haven't made any money on Monopoly hotels lately...it's the mortgage markets)!

Thanks everyone!

Botto, I only get to supervise the Introductions :) . If I am a nice person, Brian and the other admins might eventually let me take care of P & R ;) .

Solveg, if you look, you will see that I obtained special permission from Brian to keep using my big pink star. Unless, of course, you would like to use it? There's a big blue star around here too, but I like the pink one :D .

Markhr, I know when I started doing the Introductions it was because I felt everyone should get off to a good start. There are a lot of new people now, and it's hard for the mods to keep up with saying hi.

I really appreciate being asked to take on the responsibility of encouraging new members to feel at home!

Good on ya, EH. I tried to take over while you travel around the West Coast, but I fear I failed.

BTW, I hit Brian's new ride with a shopping cart. Sorry about that.

No, no, you and msincredible did a brilliant job whilst I was busy lounging around the shore...

I think Brian would be very disappointed in you if you hit his new ride. It's still shiny and everything. In fact, he might have to send you to take care of the SS/FG forum...no more Foo for you!

If so, I'll sign up to be a new member. Twist my arm.

Congrats East Hill... Yet another fine choice for moderator.

In my workplace, everyone that is promoted buys bagels, or some sort of pastry for everyone else... So instead of Macademia Shortbread for the new people, you need to send some to all members.

BTW - I found the lump of coal I promised you, I'll get it in the mail in the next week or so, but here is a pic...

I think I'd be broke in a few days if I sent my MNS to all members. However, I would probably be adored for life by 99% of the recipients :p , regardless of my moderating mad skilz or lack thereof!

Did you know that your lump of coal looks amazingly like an Eastern Grey Squirrel?

OMG! What a couple of beauties!

You can come down, with or without the shortbread. But, I wouldn't say no if you brought it!

After a short tour of the native plantings, we could ride from my house, to Woodard Bay, check out the Purple Martins, ride then the rest of the day, and return to Woodard Bay for a evening of bats. If it's nice, a picnic before bats.

The closest I would be able to guess is squirrel... I am not surprised that you could come up with a specific type of squirrel based on a bad photo of a carved piece of anthracite.

I'll have to examine it more closely in person :D . But, based on the general cheekiness factor, I'd say EGS.
