OK, here's the deal. I got a killer deal on a specialized enduro frame. I wanted to upgrade to six inches from my stumpy fsr. The thing is, I can't stand the brown ano color of the frame. I have no idea what anodizing is. Can it be removed, or must it be painted over?

I guess the frame is the anode in a solution that during electrolysis deposits the anodizing on the frame. I have a DIY home video on this, but it seemed like I might go looking for one of the smaller kids and have nothing to find since large vats of sulphuric acid seem to be a part of the process.
Hard anodizing is fairly difficult to remove. Some paints will stick to it, and glue will work over it, if arrrows are anything to go by. Myself I wouldn't mess with it. What about some decals?

The thing is, it only comes in brown. When I was going to upgrade, I was gonna do a white santa cruz. I really want a white frame. If it was silver or something, I could deal, but brown? No way. It's just the deal on this thing is crazy, so I thought i'd try to get it painted or the color removed.
I dunno, I've never cared much about the color of a frame, unless its bubble-gum pink or neon purple or something...
If it's just about frame colour preference, I wouldn't mess around unless I knew what I was doing.
