Back in the day I used to do quite a bit of street riding on a GT Performer with mag wheels and just before I stopped riding and started skateboarding I got into flatland. When I eventually went back to riding about 5 years ago I bought a Haro M6 but before I got back into riding on a regular basis it was stolen and I was broke so I just never bought another bike.

Once again I'm looking to get a new bike. It seems like a lot has changed in the scene since I stopped riding on a regular basis and I'm not sure what to get. I'm looking for something that I can use for both flatland and street riding. I've been looking at getting either a DK Signal or a new GT Performer. From what I remember my Performer treated me pretty well for both, would a flatland bike work well as both too?

Any suggestions on which would be the best for messing around on with both flatland and street would be awesome. Also, any other bikes anyone thinks I should look into would help too. Thanks.

I dont think there is a complete bike that is designed for both flatland and street riding.

A beginner flatland bike like the DK Signal or KHE Stylus will not withstand street abuse.

The best solution is to build a custom bike.

There are some frames that are made for both flatland and street.
The Function Frame is made with that in mind.

The Hoffman Stroller is a flatland frame but is said to be strong enough for some street.

There are some street frames that could also be used for flat.
