Touring - Frame pumps (full length) reccomendations?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Any votes for a particular frame pump? I normally use a C02 cartridge as ultimate backup for my normal commuting duties and local rides (cell phone is always there for me to call for help if that fails). But now I'm planning my epic trip across the Pennsy hinterland, I'm thinking a full blown (sic) frame pump is in order. Thats what I got the pump peg for on my Club Racer for, might as well use it. I see a few Brands out there, Zefal, Topeak & silca

My opinion is that the Topeak morph pump with gauge and flexible hose (this is very nice feature) is the best pump available for touring - have a look at it.

We have a Topeak Road Morph on our tandem and full size Topeak frame pumps on our touring bikes. Both are excellent.

I am using Zefal HPx pumps for almost 20 years now and recommend them. The only problem I had was when a car rode over it, after it stopped working.

I maintained three bikes (including my own) for a Trans America last Summer. With all that pumping I really liked the Topeak Morph series because of the ability to use it like a floor pump. I used the Mountain Morph because it is a bit shorter and mounted better on my bike than the Road Morph.
That said if you want one to use with your pump peg, I used the Zefal HP for years and it is pretty nice. On a long tour my preference is to use one of the Topeak Morph series though.
I have a Zefal HPx and Topeak Road Morph. Both do their jobs well. I like the gauge on the Road Morph.

First tour this coming summer, and I picked up a toepas road morph for the exact reason specified here:
floor/foot pedal
hose
enjoy your trip!
Zefal HPX. The narrow bore allows the high pressures for road tyres to be obtained without much trouble. I carry a tyre pressure gauge in my tool kit.
