Anyone interested in a NW suburbs ride on Sunday? The weather is supposed to be pretty bad but I still might be interested if it's not too bad. It will probably need to be in the afternoon to avoid freezing temps.

Potentially. I'm a cold weather / wet weather wimp, though.
If it's dry and in the 40's, we'll see. You're somewhere in one of the Barringtons, right? Maybe ride around Barrington Hills?

Sure, that's my neighborhood but I'm willing to travel a little.

I just noticed the spelling in your "Awesomeness in Trianing" [sic]. Speedy would be proud.
Regarding ride site, where ever is fine for me. I mentioned Barrington Hills because I haven't been over there, yet, this year. A few slow climbs up Braeburn Rd would probably be good for me.

It looks like I will be available around lunch time on Saturday also. Is anyone up for that and maybe we pick which day looks better? I am not sure I'm ready for both days yet ... especially while expecting crappy weather.

Actually just took Sunday off for an unrelated reason so I may be able to. We'll see about the weather tho.

:rolleyes:Despite the temptation to ride in slushy snowy windy cold weather, I think I'll take a pass.

Yep, Nordic Track for me.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better ... but it doesn't look like it.

OK Guys, I'm gonna give it a go.
I have to be back home by 2PM so how does a noon start at the shopping center at 59 and 72 sound (Target, PetSmart, Claim Jumpers, etc.)?
I have a very decent individual (or small group) route I know well but if we do a larger group, I will go toward Barrington Hills and don't know it as well.
Anyone in?

This is cool....I'm fairly new to this forum and decided to select the regional thread and found this ride thread. I just finished a solo 20m ride about 1 hour ago and did 30m yesterday. Same route both days but cut today's by 10m. Rode from just west of Woodfield to Poplar Creek Forest Preserve and back. Yesterday was not pleasent with the rain and sleet. I would have joined you on the ride today if I saw this sooner....I'll have to watch this thread more often.

Pretty good ride through Barrington Hills. I'll do a ride report as this is a very nice alternative to Bull Valley with lots of rolling hills, but good conditions.
