I'm an average Joe. Although college educated I don't have a PhD in physics. I enjoy riding my bike both for health reasons and for local utility purposes. However I sometimes get caught up in the technical end of things and, I just gotta understand something to satisfy my own curiosity. The cat.

Can someone please provide any link that explains gear inches.

Tom, those links you provided for aerobic and anaerobic were great. It's what I thought, but just explained it in black and white terms. No offense.
