Southern California - Angeles Crest as far as we can go Sat. 4/12

A mixed group of riders from the SFVBC are meeting at the Shell Station at Foothill and the 210 fwy on Saturday riding up AC. It's an out and back route so you can go as far as you like. I'm gonna try to make it as far as the road is plowed up to Dawson Saddle. Roll at 8am. Should be a nice day and definitly not hot up there.

Let us know how much more snow has melted in the closed section.

I think a total of 13 riders started together, but we split up later as some wanted to go back before others.Carrie, Felt1, and I turned around at Cloudburst after stopping for fries at Newcomb's. Pailrider and Stan didn't stop for fries, so they went down as we were going up. Vertical Bob and Laura went on to see how much snow was on the road. There was a lot of snow all around and we were cold descending from Cloudburst. Kinda warm back down here.

Laura and I made it all the way to the top of Dawson Saddle. There was at least one lane that had been plowed and three plows were parked near the top. Some of the road didn't need any cleaning but other places there was about a 6ft. wall of snow. It was beautiful up there as you can imagine. A great ride with 10,500 ft. in 93 miles

Nice to hear the ride was so good. I am sure I would have enjoyed the climbing in the cool mountains around AC, than the Santa Monica's. Decker and Stunt were just too hot.
