What can he do there? He's going to Calgary, Leithbridge, and then Banff for the Canadian Rocky Mountain Festival.

I'm sorry :p...
Calgary is nice...cowboyish, but nice. If he likes mountain biking, he could try riding Canadian Olympic Park...
Maybe try and figure out when the calgary stampede is...good drunk times from what I hear
Lethbridge...ummmm I only hear stories, and they definitely aren't exciting...
banff, good resort, good people, fun times. CRMF is supposed to be off the chart.

Yeah, he doesn't wanna go either, but he's required to because of his jazz group. He would've much rather gone to China with me a couple of weeks ago.
Well, doesn't sound like he's in for much excitement except for the last couple of days at the CRMF.

Maelstrom is a bit jaded. He'd probably tell you that Saskatchewan was a boring province, however your bf will only be 5ish hours from the Saskatchewan border. That's where all the real excitement takes place in Canada :D
Actually Calgary is a great town. Tell your bf that he has to try the prairie oysters if he happens to be there during the Stampede.

Thats funny, I was posting a message to that affect. Everything I know or hear is mostly second hand info from people that escaped (hehe) While I have been there it was to edmonton...which I thought did suck.
Anyways, good to call me out...
and the Sask isn't boring per se, just flat....:p

If he wants an expensive souvenir he can always go to the famous Alberta Boot Company.

Or, if he wants a cowboy hat just like the one George Bush has, he can check out Smith Built Hat Co. I'm sure that'll impress people in California.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Well, maybe boots for me (or not. I just checked the prices:eek:). He's not a boot person. Not a cowboy hat person either--he likes being dressy. Hmmm, smithbilt has top hats though...

Actually you're not dressy in Calgary unless you have a cowboy hat on. I would recommend he not where a top hat in down town Calgary ... unless he's a busker that can juggle 3 of them ;)

Tell him to wander around & see the sites. The Calgary Tower is kinda cool (although I've never been up it) and Eau Claire market is cool & funky.
In Banff, well, it's Banff. Touristy & insanely beautiful with the mountains. Tell him to take the gondola up Sulfur Mountain. The view from the top is gorgeous.
