I am thinking of building a single speed out of my old Lemond. Here is what I have: 97 Lemond Reno road frame 55cm perfect shape not a scratch on it except where the front derailleur was with matching steel fork. I also have an older Look carbon fork but I think I will opt for the original. mavic cxp11 wheels with Michelin tracer commuter tires . Shimano rsx dual pivot calipers and pads. Older Dia-compe traditional non-aero brake levers. Sugino crankset.Tange headset. Nitto bars and stem. I need a bottom bracket, chainring, chain, tensioner and single cassete setup. What do you all think?

I would go fixed as opposed to ss. A road bike is much more fun fixed. What kind of drops do you have??

They are somewhat horizontal with the wheelbase adjusters on the rear of the dropouts. I am on a limited bike budget right now because I just built a new roadbike, so not too much money to put into the project!

What's the rear spacing, 130? Van Dessel makes an inexpensive wheel in 130 that people here have talked pretty positively about.
If you have only a little adjustment you can still go fixed if you choose the right gear. Try http://www.peak.org/~fixin/ to see what gear might work for you.
All you really need are some spacers, a single cassette cog and a lockring.

Well things have changed. Wife and I agreed I have to many bikes and not enough room so I have decided to sell. I will sell frame and fork seperate or with the items I posted above except for the bar and stem.
