Sounds awesome. I would suggest trying one on the bars and one on the helmet though. I do a ton of trail riding at night and you definitely need a helmet light if you don't want to bite it.

As cool as the 6000 lumen monster light (and as dangerous as it is), I think I'll stick with this:

Trailtech 13W HID 675 lumens and got it at the old price of under $200.

So far that's worked really well for me. And I don't need to saddle my specialized Epic
with giant battery packs or strangely goggle-like dangerously exploding arc lights. heh.

The benefit of me helmet mounting the light and keeping the battery pack in my
camelback pouch is that I can move from bike to bike (at last count I have four,
a commuter, a roadie, a dual boinger mtb and a recumbent) easily.

Are you an experienced DIY person? If so you might consider building an LED headlight. DX now has a triple aluminum reflector for high power Cree and SSC LED's. You can easily build a headlight thats brighter than an MR-16 20-watt halogen light with no where near the power drain. The three LED's can be sandwiched between the reflector and an old CPU heat sink.

Is that DX triple reflector for emitters only or can you use stars on that? Also if using the stars would the stars be less then the diameter of the widest point of the reflector? Nice reflector. I wonder if they plan on making a MR11 size or one with flood.
