Cyclocross - 2004 Shimano Cantis?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Has anyone here seen or tried the new 2004 canti brakes from Shimano? They look like a cross between Avids and Frogleggs. They sell for $90 for both wheels. They are supposedly designed specifically for STi brake levers.

My thoughts exactly "Got a link?". I looked over the entire Shimano web site and came up with nothing but disk and V brakes.

Got a link?
Nope. I searched for info on them before I posted. My LBS suggested them to me when I was asking about Froglegs. I was hoping with the incredible wealth of knowlege all the incredibly intelligent members of this forum had, someone would know.... (yes, I can suck up with the best of them. :D )
Looks like I'll be the first on the block to try them. What the heck, I like being a Guinea pig. :D

I bet they're good. They have to be better than the Avids or why would they even bother.

Yeah, havn't seen them IRL yet, just pictures in the 04 Shimano catalog we have at work. I'll be curious to see how they work.
I'm not a big fan of how they look, but that doesn't matter too much I suppose. Still, I'd prefer a set of old school Shimano cantis, Frogleggs or Spookies unless these work a lot better.

I got this picture off of the Shimano Japan Website. That is the only way to find any new stuff from them. The only thing is that it is pretty hard to navigate.

here we go, folks, its on the europe website. http://www.shimano-europe.com/cycling/
The new Volpe (this year's model looks great, btw) has this brake. It seems just like an Avid, only beefier. No one has tried it yet.
