I've noticed that when I'm doing a cycling workout on my trainer, that my HR jumps up 1 - 3 beats each time I get down into the drops....It returns to it's original reading once I get back up on the hoods or on the tops of the bar...... Does anyone else experience this ??? Do you know what causes it?? Maybe it's just me ?

Possibly pressure being put on the heart from the angle and moving things within your body because of the angle change and other body parts being moved. I haven't paid that much attention to that difference.

I see the same thing. Along with being less accustomed to riding in that position and probably less efficient, I think it may have something to do with the added difficulty of breathing requiring more blood flow to deliver O2 to muscles...but I'm just guessing.

Same here. You can drop HR a hair by keeping your back straight, so I assume it's due to the compaction of something.
