Hope you don't get brutal wind like last year's race!
Don't rely on the aid stations for powerbars & stuff.
They melt in the brutal sun!
And, the special needs station will look so close, but it's really far b/c of the flatness out there. It's really cruel.

Good luck Chris. I'll be out on the road cheering you all on!

It's gonna be hot--it was about 88 today here, but is supposed to be 92-94 tomorrow. There were winds in the morning, which died down as the day went on. Forecast is less wind tomorrow (but of course more heat.)

You can track athletes on line (http://www.ironmanlive.com/events/ironman/arizona/?show=tracker&y=2008). His number is 1101. My husband will be out there too, doing his first at the age of 59, #1869.

On a serious note, it was brutal out there! The wind was gusting all morning long during the bike ride, the temp got up to 92 (that's measured in the shade, remember). Everyone who finished that thing was awesome!

We had a great group of spectators, about 9 of us. We had music, we had an Easy-Up, we had beer. I think we brightened the day of a few athletes. I hope so anyway. :)

Wow. Small world. I saw Denise after she dropped out yesterday. Said she just didn't have it in her legs. Too bad.

He's feeling pretty good. Little sore, maybe not ready to go for a run yet :p We're heading out for breakfast, now. (I have to watch myself. I've been eating like an Ironman too )

yeah, I don't think she really wanted to do it... she said that she was really doing it more for all of the people who cheer for her... but with her new LBS she just wasn't able to prepare and her heart just wasn't in it. She's okay with it though, last year she DNF'd and it really bothered her.

Glad to hear he's feeling well... I bet he's totally dehydrated with the wind and heat isn't he? Have a good breakfast and a great day!

Thanks Folks!

Rose and I just got home. For some reason, I wasn't able to connect to BF from my hotel...I was starting to think the site shut down.

Thanks very much for your support, it really means a lot to me. You're a great bunch of people!!!

Cheers.
