I got a Simoncini titanium frame (mid 90’s) there is a thin crack on the top tube, at the rear brakes cable exist from his tunnel (see the pic for reference, these are my SC), the crack is ~ 0.2inch.
The previous owner don’t know when and how it happened, also, he don’t know on accident history (he is not the original owner)
What would you do - ride it / invest in complex surgery / simple welding / would you invest $ in this frame?

What could have made this crack?

I can’t reach the original owner, and Israel is far from Italy,,,,

Bad news for you I am afraid. It is extremely hard to repair Titanium tubing as any welding would have to be done in a oxygen free environment. On the other hand, if the crack on the tube is superficial, you can try using JB Weld or similar adhesives that you use to fill in the crack, let dry and sand it down with sand paper. This takes patience but would be the best solution IMO, if you do not have any custom Ti builders in your neck of the woods

Cycles Clements in Ledbury is the UK dealer. They speak English, mostly, if language is the problem.
