Commuting - On-One Mary Handlebars on Road Bike?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm thinking of swapping out the Nitto Noodle bars on my Rivendell for the Mary bars from On-One.
I want to sit a little more upright with less reach than I currently have now. I originally had the moustache bars but those were too funky for me. The Mary bar looks like a nice compromise and gets great reviews.
The only pics i've seen of these bars is on mountain bikes.
Anyone have these on their road/touring bike?

I know this is kind of off topic, but that bike looks really cool. It also looks like a place from around here.
Also looks like a great place to go pick morels =)
I've always wondered about that style of bars though. The seem like they might be awkward if you had to stand up and really hammer down.
Edit: Maybe it was just that picture. I've actually been debating on finding a bar that was sort of like this as well. After some image searching I also found this link http://velospace.org/node/1019 . Closer to a touring/road bike than a mountain bike... but different yet =0

I have the Origin 8 Space Bars on my Kilo TT. They're a bit wide which causes a noticeable difference in handling which I'm guessing wouldn't be that different on a mountain bike.

I have a neck injury that precludes me from using drop bars, can't raise my head up enough to look forward when I'm in a tuck.
I love the On-One bars, they put your wrists and arms into a very natural and comfortable position.
And here are a few images I have of comparing an Albatross bar and a North road to the Mary.

I've got one on my single speed mountain bike and I absolutely love it :) It's especially nice on the elbow I broke last year...it doesn't strain it like a traditional bar does.

My wife has the Mary bar on her Cannondale 2000T with grip shifters and Ergo grips.
She really likes the set up.
Sorry, I don't have a pic.

The forward bends are pretty different, but VO's Milan bar (http://www.velo-orange.com/milanbar.html) might be a contender. One of three bars I'm considering for my build in January.
And, out of curiosity, what don't you like about your moustache bars?
