I just bought a used bike that came with Look Anatomic carbon pedals. I have a old pair of Specialized Ground Control Sport mountain bike shoes (SPD compatible).
My question is: would I be better off buying new Look compatible shoes to go with the pedals, or new SPD pedals to go with my shoes. Budget is around $75. Recommended shoes/pedals appreciated.
Edit: I've checked on ebay and there are any number of shoes & pedals that are within budget. Are the Look pedals noticeably better than SPD types?
Would be easier to get q good pedal at that price than a new shoe. You could try Nashbar/Performance/Sierra for discount shoes http://www.sierratradingpost.com/xq/asp/dept_id.L2~326/catimage.False/qx/prod_list_display.htm

Looks treat my feet better than spd's on the road. No hotfoot.
Keep the Look pedals and get new shoes.
Switching from SPD to Look was the single best upgrade I've made to my road bike. For reasons I can't understand, it cleared up pain in my left knee. I haven't come unclipped yet from the Looks. Finally, toe numbness has nearly gone away (although not entirely).
I still use SPDs for my MTB and now I have a spare set of pedals!

get a good fitting pair of shoes...look pedals gives you a wider platform and spreads the weight out on the foot. You should remember to check your cleats for wear and change the cleat when the become worn. Remember that the look cleats are plastic and need to be replaced.
