Hey all,

Sorry if this is a question that has been asked thousands of times before (I did search to little direct avail). If I have a frame that is largely chrome with some painted areas of the tubing, will I be able to powdercoat it one color? For example, is it possible to strip or blast off the chrome finish so that it will all come out one color, or is the powdercoating over the chromed area going to come out different because of what's under it? If it helps, the frame I am considering is Reynolds 631 steel.

the way powdercoating will work it will make a nice hard thick coat of paint over it.... i dont think that powdercoating over chrome will come out any different.. unless you use one of those transparent finishes .... if you are going solid color u should be fine.

I think that some chrome discolors when you heat it....
