Every once in awhile the subject of dogs comes up here. Last evening wading through the junk mail getting to more interesting was "The Sportsmans Guide". BTW they have a website. In there was a ultasonic dog repeller. I haven't enough problem to warrent carrying one, but thought I tell you all about it.

Umm, I disagree. Even if you flip off a bike going 30 mph and land and simply roll you will be fine. The only reason that you would die is if you hit your head REALLY hard, rolled out into traffic, or rolled and hit something sturdy on the side of the road. A large dog would probably knock you off the bike, but a cat or squirrel no way. Atleast I know I wouldent be bothered by a cat or squirrel.

Don't get too excited. That website has been discussed a couple of times on this forum previously. It's a load of codswallop.

you disagree? well i never.

actually you can fall off at over 40mph and be largely okay. yes i did hit my head, no it wasn't hurt but the helmet was in pieces.

I'd personally just bunny-hop a cat or squirrel. Or a dog if it was small enough.

Ive crashed racing superbikes @ 125mph. Granted I was wearing full leathers, helmet etc., But you not going to die unless you...

A. hit something

b. flop around too much and break you neck.

This shot was taken about 2 weeks, in the same corner where it happened. It was probably the most violent thing thats ever happened to me. Cheers!

Dogs suck...... (I have a dog LOL) ok maybe they dont but the people who dont keep there dogs on leashes or in there yards suck!!! I got yanked off my bike by a pitbull (medium size one) 3 blocks from my house on the route I ride everyday. The dog took a bite (punctured my right calf in 4 places) barked at me and ran off. I didn't get hurt bad but the thing is I have this fear of dogs while riding that I didn't have before <sigh>.

Ohhhh I saw a piece on TechTv about the ultasonic dog repeller. The tester observed that it worked about 50% of the time. They werent very scientific tests, just a jogger running with one and trying it out on dogs she passed.
