MR16 10watt Source?

Last year I ran some DIY 20watt MR16s for early a.m. trail runs. Almost TOO bright as they created shadows for the biker in front of me. This year I'd like to try out 10watters. I like to buy in person. Any source in the GTA area (anywhere near Toronto will be fine)? I did find a 10watt MR11 which I'll be rigging up anyway.

I don't think you can find them. This was discussed a few months ago and that was the conclusion. MR-11 10W are very common however.

I haven't come across a decent vendor in my search for 20W halogens (could only find floods) but then again i didn't visit a shop that specializes in lighting. I just went to Homedepot, Rona, Canadian tire etc.

I made the same mistake. BatterySpace only carries MR11 in 10W. All their MR16 are 20W.

Nightsun!!! I checked the prices. WAY TOO HIGH! If I wanted to spend that kinda money, I'd have a better ride. I'm after bang for buck. And I just found this lighting shop on a street I'm on every day. I'll go Monday and report back later in the week. 6v5wattMR16 and 12v12wattMR16. Looks promising.

I picked up 2 of each: 6v5watt mr16 and 12v12watt mr16. Price is way too high:total $50 cdn. But I'm interested in the 6v5watt performance. if it's so-so, i'll try running 2 on the bar. i need lights to run for 4 or 5 hours if i enter some over-night races this year. the normal plan would be to run 1X5watt for easy terrain, 2 for touchy. I can make up 6 pack NiMH AAs easily. but right now i've put together a 12v10 watt mr11 which i'll be running trails with in the morning. it's a bit undervolted cause the battery packs i'm using (li-ion surplus notebook) are such a pain to charge. but they last a long time.

No problems with the product or vendor. They are indeed glass front bulbs.

Hick, it sounds like you found some interresting stuff too- 6V 5W? 12V 12W? As long as they work out for you, the 12W are probably a better deal locally than having to ship. Even if it costs a little more per bulb, you don`t have to feel bad about the extra packaging and shipping involved and you don`t have to buy a bunch of stuff you aren`t sure you need just to avoid shipping more at a later date.

Good to know. Thanks for the link. It'd give me 730 lm for 5 hours on a 3.5Ah battery. Maybe I should go do the 18 hours of Fruita;)
