I know this has been covered 567 time (+- 1000), I have read most of the posts using search. I would like just to confirm on my situation.
After going over my budget I have decided to just convert my current road bike.
SO, 03 allez comp 56 cm. I have gotten Profile Design T2 wing bar, T2+ aero bars. fast forward seat post.
I have not put everything one yet, should these things get me too a good position that I need? What kind of problems might I run into? Things to think about?
I am new to bikes so don't assume I know anything.:)
Thanks

Should work just fine.
Any plans re: gear and brake placement?
Putting STI levers on the base bar would be the budget thing to do, but you'll probably want to upgrade to bar end shifters before too long - so much nicer, especially on rolling courses.
Yea, I am going to put bar end shifters on. That was another question I have. Do I do anything with the gearing?. I is an allez double, and I am not even sure what kind of gearing is on a tt bike. Suggestions? And what would I need to change?
I would recommend go to a LBS that has a good bit fit person. You might have to change your headset configuration to get more areo. They will also be able to maximize your power and comfort while getting you out of the wind.
Most TT bikes go with a standard double. If you have Shimano derailleurs you can get DA bar end shifters. They're relatively inexpensive and can be used in friction mode so as to work with any cassette.
so do you use a 9 speed shifter if your rear cassett is a 9 cog?
Yup. Something like this:

Great, thanks for the info.
