They've posted the results on TXBRA but some of them are wrong and, I'm hoping, being corrected. I did the 35+. As noted I had some directional issues in the TT. The other two stages I had great team support and managed to finish at the front. I'd say win but the course really won both days, Sunday I had one very wet soggy match that I managed to fizzle at the right time.
Never really warmed up, I was still wearing arm warmers at the start of the afternoon hill climb.

Too bad about the TT navigation! Congrats on the road wins though! Did you email Bonnie about the Sunday result?
Any good stories? Did you just ride away, work with some folks? That Justin is one strong Cat 4, huh? :roflmao:

Bonnie's checking into Sunday.
Justin's a Cat 4?
Reminds me of a 4/5 race Pizza Man and I did a couple of years ago :D

Oops, nope, just looked -- he's a 3. He was only a couple seconds off the course record at Run Far last week. His wife (I think -- Christina) tears siht up too (won Hammerfest).

buddy of mine in the 5's said he was in the middle of a 30 mph TT when he flatted, and they refused to give him a neutral wheel. So they made him take the longest time + 5 minutes. Then in the road race someone took him out in a crash. Oh and he got to drive 11+ hours for this. He was pretty cheesed. I told him to quit racing the crash 5's and stick with the 35+.

How does that work? Either the wheels are neutral, or they aren't. Why wouldn't they give him one?

I wasn't there and didn't see it first hand. Kinda wonder if he was the victim of cat 5 discrimination. ;)

At some races, they go neutral if they have enough wheels from a given field, then other fields are wheels-in-wheels-out.
I have certainly seen that happen. "Well, you guys only have five sets of wheels in the truck, so no neutral wheels, sorry." But it seems like it ought to be clear beforehand. I guess he didn't have his own wheels in?

I guess not - he probably assumed since they said they would have "neutral wheels" he didn't need to put any in. Obviously something got miscommunicated which is too bad. Sounds like he would have had one of the top times in the 5's.

Neutral wheels only means that if you need a wheel they'll grab any wheel for you. Wheels in wheels out means that if you put wheels in they will give you your wheels. Neutral support, by say Mavic, means that they have wheels available for you.
As for the crash 5's, when I was a 5 in Austin I saw way more crashes in the 3's than in the 5's. The 3's all stayed together until the last 100m then there was a bunch sprint of 40 guys. In the 5's it was only a handful of guys fighting for the win.

Yeah, Scott said he was told neutral wheels, but obviously that ended up not being the case as they flat out refused him one when he needed it. I don't know if they made it wheels in wheels out at some point and he just didn't know or what. I'd be cheesed too.
Two of our 5's have gone down in bad crashes in two races. Neither wreck was their fault. Both are over 35 and have been group riding for years so they're not typical 5's. I think both have learned and are going to be doing the 35+ from now on.

Yeah, Scott just bought my old B&S kits. He was telling me about his weekend -- didn't sound like all that much fun for him.
