Anybody had any experience with this website? http://www.bicyclelink.com/bluebook/

As I understand it it works like the Kelly Blue Book or NADA for cars. I thought I'd get some feedback on it before I gave them my money.

Thanks,

Yea, I think you have a good idea. I think i'll wait for someone else to go in there and look around too!

...I'm not going to pay to see their prices!

Unless you're dealing with a top line bike I don't think the investment would be worth it. You could always go to Ebay and see what comparable models are bringing on that market.

I think fuji is right. What bikes are selling for is what they are worth.

Ebay operates on the bigger fool theory, your hope if selling is that the fools
are out in force for your auction, and if buyer, that they are on vacation that
week. A study of an auction area will show extreme variances from time to
time for similar objects in prices accepted. Much of the time everything works
out and all parties are happy but those outliers can be doozies. The bike blue
book, sort of like the kelley blue book, is only vaguely based on reality. Since the bike resale market locally is small you will be lucky to get anything near what the blue book might think it is worth. Steve

Typically when I have sold bikes used but in good condition and everything functional I have gotten about 60 to 70 cents on the dollar of the price I paid.

No, you've got it backwards. If we follow their logic you would send me the money for me to tell you what my bike is worth! :roflmao:
