Want to do some more work on this folder. This is an old picture, it is looking better now.
As you can see the "cocpit" on this bike is small, so at the moment I am riding it with the handlebars a little bit forward. I am not sure I like the fold on this bike, that is the handlebars is not folding ok.
First I was thinking of replacing it with same system but in alu to make it lighter and also looking better (in my opinion).
When folding it yesterday I realised that since the stem is a bit longer than needed it is not enough to just open the quick release and push it down. (I use a quick release to hold the handlebars in position, and when folding it I open this one and push the handlebars down to a "upside down" position.)
To solve this I pulled the stem out and placed it where it could fit, but I realised this is not something I want to do ewery time I fold it.
Decided I liked this solution http://bikeforums.net/showthread.php?p=6514859#post6514859 , but where can I buy something like this? I am prepaired to cut down the headtube of the bike to fit a stock (BMX or other) fork, this could let me put better brakes and a system like on the red beauty.
I am worryed that that system is heavy, and also becouse of the narrow cockpit on my bike I guess I could only use it with a "bulls horn handlebar.
I`we seen "my" type of handlebars in alu on the Bromptons (and I would soo much like if I could fit both stem and bars from a Brompton on my bike), but where to buy?
When I go to the homepages I often find it difficult to look for this type of thing, the whole page is made to sell you the whole bike, and also to order a few ekstra bits and pieces, but not to sell what I am looking for. Also they tell you what bike or model it is for but not the measurments, since they do expect you to know already.
I also need to buy a seat tube, 26mm and ofcourse a bit longer than you find in a normal supermarked.
Any suggestiones?
