ontario cup. senior 4 mens/ masters 3 combined field. 8th in the overall field and 2nd in the seinor mens field respectivley. my first race and i enjoyed it. climbing is for sure my strong point and there were some hills there but the finish was far from the last hill and i learned alot about positioning for the sprint. i got pushed around to much at the end. oh well next race is a hill top finish so i will be looking for a better result. see results here http://www.ontariocycling.org/web_pages/results/hamiltonresults_1.htm
oh yeh when i woke up it was snowing, what a way to start the season.

Average speed only 34km/h? Very hilly course??
It was your typical M3/S4 race but even slower than usual. No one willing to do anything except hang on until the bunch sprint.

Even the elite 1/2 cat race must of been fairly slow, the average speed for that one was 38km.
The course was actually quite hilly, but it was a nice course. I raced the S3 cat and we had the juniors with us, I finished 4th despite getting involved in a crash during the first lap, my bike got pretty mangled. I must of looked like a drunk trying to ride it most of the time, it was very hard to hold my line. I took the fork off when I got home and sure enough the steer tube got cracked
I should add that I got completely sucked into that race not to lose mentality. I had one chance to counterattack just before the final right turn but I sat on the wheel like a sheep. Blech.
