I can answer you for this old subject. The weight of a ksyrium Elite rim is 443gr I have verify. It is about 400gr for SSC Sl 2003. But ... you must added the weight 40Gr for what I named the "ecrous" (sorry !) to insert into the rim.
Each "rayon" is about 6,5Gr. the total weight is 780gr/960gr for Elite and 710gr/850gr for SSCSl 2004. I think Elite is better to go to 40Km/h (because of the conséquence of the weight of the rim) and SSC are better to climb. But I prefer Elite because first of the price, second because the nipples are too large on SSC and finally both have too lateral stiffness to be very efficient for accelerate. Prefer Bontagrer I suppose for the sprints.

For those that are interested, the Mavic Open Pro rim is listed at 425g on the Mavic website. My calculations for a set of Open Pro rims built on Record 28/32 spoke hubs would come in at 755g/912g. That is a savings of one ounce on the front and two ounces on the rear. Not a noticeable difference, in my opinion.
I rode for many years and miles on Open Pro rims with DT spokes and Chorus hubs. They were wonderful. I now ride on the Ksyrium Elites and find them to be just a bit stiffer, but also a wonderful wheel.
And hello to "looping". Spent two weeks in the Burgundy wine region (Beaune) waxing fat last summer before taking in the last two days of the TdF (and LA's fifth). Was truly wonderful vin, food and people.
This summer we are doing a bicycle tour of the Loire Valley before catching LA win his sixth in Paris. Anyone like to join us? Visit the chateaux and take in about 450 miles of riding over rolling hills in eleven days before heading to Paris for four days and the end of the TdF.
The one thing people must remember when comparing weight of rims is that Ksyrium's don't use any rim tape so the weight saving is a little better than most people think.
CHEERS.
