I'm an old fogey living in Nova Scotia who cycles around town to run errands, and on the local rail-to-trail for recreation, and once from here to Mexico because I could. Bikes are the answer. My real name is George.

Hello George, how long did it take you to get to Mexico? And what bike or bikes are you riding?

Welcome to BF!

Hi East Hill

I'm now tuning up the only bike I own, a Trek Navigator (cream puff) 200, which is less than two years old and has more than 8,000 km and some Texas mud on it, 'cause its the one I rode to Mexico. I'm still tickled that I did that. I'll join your forum.

George

Just remember that wherever you go now--there's probably a BikeForums member there as well! I love travelling around and meeting fellow members :D .

And it took me 89 days to get to Mexico, following the Adventure Cycling route from Bar Harbor, Maine, to St. Augustine, Florida, and from there on the A.C. Southern Tier route to Navasota, Texas, and from there to Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas on my own navigation, and boy, was my rear sore.

I'd win that bet. I'm 68. Really an old fogey. Loved it when middle aged men in the deep sout called me "sir".

You are a spring chicken compared to some of our members. There are several in their seventies, and I think even a few in their eighties. Besides, cycling keeps you young :D .
