I'd highly suggest you start looking now. Most of the close places are already booked. May have to look in the surrounding area as far North as Lawton, OK. Might check with smaller towns, Burkburnett comes to mind, and their Chamber of Commerce, for any Mom/Pop not listed in Expedia places.
You can camp, as REI rents tents near the start. Kinda HOT in August though...
I think the HHH website (http://www.hh100.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=21&Itemid=51) has lodging listings or might drop them a note.
Crazy big ride, very well run, (Thanks Robie!!!) all weekend of bike fanatics.

Check Vernon Texas. About 45 minutes or so further out. Relatively new Holiday Inn express up there....but like already suggested, rooms go fast.......

There are new hotels in Henrietta (about 20 min. away)and Burkburnett (10 min. away). They have built about 10 new hotels here in town in the last couple years, most within 5-7 miles of the starting point.
I'm surprised there's not a sticky for this ride.
I seem to be SOL for lodging as well. Suck. I have a feeling I'll want a bed and shower afterwords, not a tent and sleeping bag.

From the HH100.org website:
Call Marie Libby at 940-723-2741. Marie will play match maker and introduce you to a local family or property owner that wants to help you compete in the HHH. This is truly hospitality at its best. Hundreds of Host Homes are available.
We did this 2 years ago and had no problems finding someone to stay with. Arranged it about 2 months before the event and then confirmed a couple weeks before. Older gentleman in a big enough house to accomodate a bunch of us on the floor. Ended up meeting Cuda2K and Lecterman as they ended up at the same place.
