My current crankset is crapping out on me, so I need to get a new one. So I figured I would solicit some advice from you guys, get opinions on if any of these cranks are excellent, or should be avoided.

These are what I'm looking at right now...

If you have any other suggestions in the 75-110 dollar range, I'd be happy to hear them. Thanks in advance for any help.

The RD cranks have a weird chainline spec:


Use with a 103 mm square taper bottombracket for a 45mm Chainline

That would be enough to dissuade me.

FWIW, the Andel cranks are basically the same as IRO cranks, which are plenty strong and durable in my experience (except for the chainring).

I got the chainline on the RD cranks to be acceptable (not perfect) by putting the chainring on the inside of the spider with a 103mm BB. The difference between the outside of the spider and the inside of the spider is, however, more than the required 3mm, so it's a small overcompensation, but within acceptable tolerances. If I get a chance to pick up a BB with a 107mm spindle for cheap, I might try it. That would move the chainline 2mm to the right, which, I suspect would bring it closer to perfection. This is mostly because, as a matter of principle, I want a perfect chainline, not just an acceptable/safe one. As it currently is set up (103mm BB, Chainring on the inside), it's fine.

edit: I also like the RD's a lot. They're reasonably light (not weight weenie light, but light enough), tough enough and they have a very comfortable (for me) Q factor.
