Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - You're my tofu as I ride through the bontanical gardens...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So I pedal quickly, but with out haste, and I catch up to a fellow cyclist where I ask kindly if I may perchance draft in order to conserve energy. We both gleefully talk cycles and then attempt to race at the speed limit of the path way to see who would reach our end faster. We tied, shook hands and agreed to sing kumbaya.
I then proceeded to ride through town, and went to some nieghborhoods that were economical disadvantaged. I gleefully displayed my bike that was of very high dollar value to everyone, as well as my superflous cycling style clothes. Everyone was very interested and we had a wonderfull cultural exchange. Once done, I rode my single speed bike with front and rear brakes on to other parts of town, informing some drivers of better options in thier driving manners that would suit us both better, since we share the road.
At the end I came to a lake, and we all formed a circle and sang the tab song.. "Perfect harmony".
It was beautifull.
That's the politically correct, non confrontational, no contraversy starting version of Mayo's thread....
Is that what we'd like to hear?

It's really the singing that bothers me. Other than that I think you have a really insightful piece.

That depends, you forgot to specify...were you wearing a helmet?
a)more than half of the ride
b)less than half of the ride
c)you always wear a helmet
d)you never wear a helmet
I would have thought you would have linked hands and sang "We Are the World".
That's more like it, William!

Is this the song you're referring to?
I'd like to buy the world a home
And furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees
And snow white turtle doves.
Chorus:
I'd like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a Coke
And keep it company
That's the real thing.
(Repeat chorus)
I'd like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a Coke
And keep it company
That's the real thing
Chorus 2:
What the world wants today
Coca-Cola (background)
Is the real thing
(Repeat chorus 2)
What the world wants today
Coca-Cola (background)
Is the real thing
I'd like to teach the world to sing
Sing with me (background)
In perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a Coke
And keep it company
That's the real thing
(Repeat chorus)
I'd like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a Coke
And keep it company

Of course not.
But, if you want to have politically incorrect, confrontational, controversial threads, you need to be ready for the debate that follows. And if you want the debate that follows, you need to be willing to abide by the conventions of etiquette that make amicable disagreement possible.
And, if you want to make politically incorrect, confrontational and controversial posts in a privately owned, moderated forum, you have to realize that you will be subject to the discretion of the forum owner and moderators.

What a load of cr@p. Sometimes you are definitely full of it, William. It was good for a good laugh though.
While some of Mayo's threads are good, he needs to watch some of his language. It is as simple as that. He HAS also had some other threads deleted, too, as I recall because of inappropraite topics.
I enjoyed his story but was uncomfortable with pretty much the same things Koffee was uncomfortable about.
Shock value has it's place, and Bikeforums is not the place for his particular brand of shocks.

Man-
only 2 $10 words in this whole thread, for a grand total of $25 (I gave OTS $5 for the use of "DECAPS").
C'mon people, let's use bigger words to make our forum look the most ensmartened. Here are a few (with definitions) for use at your leisure:
Amalgum - a type of gummy substance made from Amal
acerbic - a mix between a computer and a lighter
despot - of a dog, doglike
superfluity - above normal fluity, fluity from the planet Krypton
ecotone - the habit of buying budget CDs
mellophones - a peacable cellular device
Spartan - someone who is Spartan
supplication - a supplied application
disincline - the hill ahead of you/that you are on
enjoy.
I would like to defend William.
