Hello, as a part of converting my ~80's nishiki custom sport into a fixed gear commuter I bought these vuelta xrp wheels.

they're nice enough, but the 23 tires are a bit hard, i was wondering what do you all think would be the fattest tires I could fit on them?

think i could put some 700x30's on them or is the wheelframe too narrow? they came stock 700x23. i feel every pebble @ 110 psi.

my nishiki CS is an awesome frame and i am in love with it, i think it is wide enough for just about any of the tires so that shouldnt be an issue.

but of course :)

I was just on his site but missed that graph, thank you.

so, it looks like these are (in bold below) a 18 right? that confuses me because 1, 18 isnt listed, but if it was it'd be in between 17(sizes 25-37) and 19(sizes 28-44), my 23 isnt listed there. or is the 700x18 listed below the exterior rim size? meaning i need to take off the tire and somehow measure the inside gap?

Yep, you have to take the tire off the rim and measure the gap. I had to do the same with my Sun Rhyno rims.

the 23s that come stock on those are hard and crappy... kendas? try a 23 gatorskin -- i notice the difference so i only use those tires as a last resort
