General Cycling Discussion - Tonight is the Siouxland Cyclists annual banquet.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Which is always a fun event put on by the club. We also have the election/re-election of officers. Hopefully I'll be re-elected to the board, maybe as president or VP.

The banquet is at a great local resteraunt called Grahams. talk about wonderful, succulent prime rib, mmm-mmm. We also play a game called quiz bike, its a trivia game on things that have happend in the clubs 20+ year history.

Can't wait!

Does your club hold any such event?

Hey NC,

How did the election go ? What's on this year's agenda ?
Thought you might want to take a look at the bikeswitzerland club promotion. Here's the link:

Everyone decided to vote in the same board of directors as last years. So I'm still on the board but with additional responsibilities.

Instead of just being the Map Dude, I'm now the Ride Right Guru, & the Trails Guy. In other words I'm the Ride Right person for the Siouxland area when it come to RAGBRAI & because of the new Siouxland Trails foundation which I helped to develope I'm now the advocate on the bike club's board of directors for the rec. trails.

As far as this years agenda is concerned first up will be the ride for the trails & of course RAGBRAI. Then hopefully a public safety campaign for both motorists & cyclists alike. And other general club business.

The banquet was a blast! Great food, great people & great fun!

N C,

When the time draws near, I have a Ride Right presentation that I did on powerpoint last year. It went over really big during our safety meeting, at least much better than watching the safety video, again.

Are you offering to share it with me? If you are thank you in advance. I'll need all the help I can get. Thing is I have no clue and no software for which to operate power point with. That includes no laptop either or any other type of equipment either. I'll have to see what I can obtain in my area to do so.
