Hey, all.
I'm fresh on this forum, but not on two wheels. Not pushing 50, I'm hauling it in my trailer! Clipless, fat tires, dual suss, SMALL air on the occasional trail or off the curb during a commute; in the Great Lakes area, weather can be a little rough, but it takes ice or deep snow to keep me off the saddle. Cold is just cold, rain is just wet.

My daughter nears my passion for riding; she would love to ride to school, but it just wouldn't work out, it's not safe for her. She's a 'tween' right now, talks the talk, but we'll see if she walks the walk. She wants to do the ride of silence, and break 25 miles this year. It IS a little tough to see her lip poke out when I have to keep her home w/ our extended family so I can go pay bills in miserable weather, but that's life.

Don't have the time or the room for an SO right now; wouldn't be fair to whatever 'her' it would be, nor would it be fair to my child. My SO is my bike right now.

Hi ATAC, you will find you are not a nut here, simply one of thousands with similar passions :D . What bikes are you and your daughter riding? Do you have photos of your rig?

Where are you in the Great Lakes? Did you find the regional sub forums yet?

Welcome to BF!

Welcome to the forums. Any day is a good day to ride a bike, as you imply, but for me not any weather is good to ride a bike. I am not a fair weather rider but do have limits. Again welcome.

Thanks, Floyd.
East Hill -- no pix as of now, but I roll a handbuilt Dakar XLT 1.0 w/ my own parts pick; my daughter (because she's still growing, and we're not wealthy)a dept. store full-susser that I've upgraded/tweaked.
I'm in NE Indiana, and yes, I've seen the regional sections; been lurking for a minute or two. It may or may not show through, depending on the topic at any time, but I'm enough of a nut that you could pick me out of the middle of a jar of Planter's.

You don't have me quite convinced of that, but I DO like your choice of avatar ;) .
