Greetings from the North East! I'm a teacher that has just begun commuting to work (about 4-5 Miles round trip) and looking to cycling as a way to stay in shape. Just getting started in the 2 wheeled world and I'm getting more and more intrigued as I see just how deep the rabbit hole goes! Im hoping to use this forum as a knowledge base for a newbie such as myself to get a good start with some expert advice!

The only bike I have so far is a Jamis Commuter. I've only made minor adjustments in swapping the saddle and changing to petals to some that allow for straps/cages. I plan on "building" a street bike for longer rides and getting involved with a local bike club down the line.
