View Full Version : Pictures of green Bike Friday with Brooks Saddle
I've searched the Brooks picture threads and the folding bike picture threads and the Brooks and Bike Friday websites, and like Bono, I still haven't found / what I'm looking for.
Can anyone post a picture of a black or honey Brooks saddle on a standard green Bike Friday? I think I'd prefer honey unless the colours really clash. I will also look at the two seats next to the bike in the store I'm ordering from, but that won't be for a couple of weeks.

I can provide 1/2 of your request - namely a VERY green Bike Friday!
No Brooks saddle in either color, but it does have a stock, black BF seat.
MY dash of color is a RED, Salsa seat post clamp.
ADD: Here's a more accurate shot of the GREEN color.
Well, Foldable_Two gave you the green, here (http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1313/1459711953_e12ef4bcbb_o.jpg) is a honey Brooks Champion Special on a Power Rasberry NWT.

Thanks, guys, I have a green NWT and I'll probably order the honey B17 seat but I had hoped to get a preview of how it will look My LBS has a honey coloured Swift in stock so I think I'll take the BF over there and just hold the seat beside it. Not to be OCP or anything :)
I can pretty much guarantee the honey will look brilliant on the green bike. These 2 colors complement each other perfectly.
I have a honey Brooks B.17 Champion Special on my enno orange New World Tourist. As Bill Laine of Wallingford Bicycle Parts told me....the honey looks good on every frame. When in doubt, go with the honey!
As an aside, I have a British Racing Green (BRG) Swift on my BRG Waterford RST-22, also quite a nice pairing!

Speaking with the eye of a fashion conscious woman...
The honey B17 is of that neutral shade that just goes with everything, unlike black, which will not go with certain shades of blue, brown, and green. I have pants that are roughly that color, and they're one of my most used dress pants. Well ok, now they're a bit tight so they're not as used...
So yes, go with the honey. 100 OCP points if you do. :p:D

Yeah, I think I will, thanks all.
OK, I bought the honey saddle. It's taking on Proofhide. Pictures tomorrow.
Pictures tomorrow.
Okay, I lied - it wasn't the next day. Thanks everyone. Only had time for a short ride today.

The honey saddle looks great! Actually, the whole bike does. Congrats.

If you really wanted to treat the bike you could get some matching brooks honey bartape - it's real leather and it's always nice to have matching collar and cuffs non? :)

Hi littlepixel
Do you think your idea of a B17 honey brooks saddle and honey bard end tape would work on a Brompton in raw lacqueur? I know the saddle will complement the colour but not so sure about the tape.

Thanks - I wondered about that when I saw the contrast between seat and tape. This is a lifetime bike purchase, so I will look into that when the current tape wears out - I'm not enough of a fashionista to replace it now, but it's good to know it is a possibility.

thanks!
It's a really good looking bike. How's the Brooks doing for you so far?
Went for one 20 km ride and stripped my crank arm pedal threads. I guess that's a risk when you are taking pedals off and putting them on all the time. The seat felt ok for that time. :(
