Ok after reading tons of posts and asking a few questions I have narrowed down to these 4 bikes (I know, thats hardly "narrowed") I at least want to cut my list down to 2 before I test ride a few again this weekend.

About me..

- 6'0 260lbs with a semi-disproportionately long torso. (Getting my true measurements done this weekend, but I wear a 30 inch inseam pant. For a 6'0 person I consider that a bit disproportionate)

- I ride about 3x a week on VERY hilly roads.
1x 30-40 miles
2x 10-20 miles

I currently ride a '02 Trek 7500. I am looking forward to making the move to a true road bike.

Here are my choices. Please cast your vote and explain which do you feel is better for me.

Cannondale Synapse 6 (Triple) $1179

Trek 2.1 (Triple) $1250
http://highgearcyclery.com/itemdetails.cfm?catalogId=39&sort=pricedesc&id=4227

Lemond Tourmalet $1259
http://highgearcyclery.com/itemdetails.cfm?catalogId=39&sort=pricedesc&id=4298

Cannondale Synapse Sport 5 $1389

I value your opinions, thanks in advance.

The Synapse bikes are nice. The Sport 5 has all 105 which is a upgrade from the Tiagra. The Trek 2.1 is also a nice bike, but with all of them similar in price and components, I would ride them all and see which one feel the best for your body size. In any event, wheels will need to be addressed at 260. I really like the Synapse 5 though. I almost bought the Synapse versus the CAAD9.

Have you checked to see if they had any 07 closeouts? Might be able to get more bike for less bucks.

I do like the Sport 5 myself, but I heard someone say that it is much "softer" in the rear fork meaning it may not be suitable for the hilly rides I do. Any truth to that??

No chance at a '07 closeout. I really want to buy my bike from www.highgearcyclery.com. They have been very good to me and I intend to do some group rides with them.
