around 250 Ft elevation in around half a mile or so. I dont know what the grade would be, but it was my nightmare and I always used to walk that hill. Took that sucker down today (only at 4.5 mph speed, and one break for a minute or so half way !)

Feels great ! The sense of conquer and the soar legs feel good today ;)

Good on ya! Taking a longtime 'nemisis hill' is ALWAYS satisfying. A sure sign you're getting stronger.

Congrats! Some day soon you'll be able to do it without a break. There's one hill on my regular ride route that's about 150' over 1/4 mile. It can be a PITA on some days, yet a complete breeze on others. *shrug*

Thats about 9-10% slope, pretty good. I love hill climbs. You know if you get to the top and don't feel like you're about to pass out, you need a bigger hill.

Congrats. I used to have a hill like that on my commute. I'd always be dead at the top but it does feel good.

Congrats, I have a monster of a hill on my commute (ironically enough I have one both ways) and it is a great feeling to beat it every day!

I just built up a road bike (an old Cannondale (http://glyphpress.com/talk/index.php/2008/04/04/jit-jaaa-gaaaaaa/) road frame) and deliberately geared it pretty high, cuz going out the driveway and into town is relatively flat. But that's only if I turn *right* out of the drive. If I turn *left*...

So I'm looking forward to being where you are.

There was a hill near my house that I could never climb when I just started riding last year. Then at the peak of my fitness in October/November I managed to sprint most of it after steadily managing to do more and more of it.

I am less in shape now, but I can still get up it. It is also partly a mind thing and knowing you can climb it.
