Either a bowl of cereal with nonfat milk or a bowl of oatmeal, both ~ 400-500 calories. Then on the way to the race one bottle of water, one bottle of cytomax during warm up, then an enervit crack pack on the line if a crit, if a road race then a gel on the line.

oatmeal (lotsa honey, pinch of salt, spoon of pb, some grape nuts for crunch), banana, maybe some oj

really, it's what you've eaten in the days beforehand that matters.. glycogen stores aren't gonna fill up in your one meal before an event.

I usually eat 3 hours before a race.
Large oatmeal, banana, protein supplement, vitamin cocktail, lots of water.
Then I sip on water or carb drink.
2 hours before race I down a large-*** caffeinated beverage or the like.
Then just sips of water until an hour before.

hand-rolled?

those are nasty, and make your teeth brown, and your breath stink.

if you include those, then i was smoking filter-less as recently as 2 years ago, always when i was out of my own stash, and too drunk to care.

2 sevings of oatmeal with banana. maybe a few nuts and a bit of honey/jam.

2 eggs

lots of water and coffee

keep snacking up until race time on more oats or carb drinks and gels... most of my pre race nutrition happens the days pre race though... this is just a regulated meal choice to keep the GI tract happy and keep the confidence up (confidence that I wont poo my pants during the race, that is). plain and reliable.

I like brown rice too as a pre race meal... again, with an egg or two.

Personally, I do very well on eggs and toast or Muesli and yogurt. Atomic strength coffee is mandatory.

ummmmm... egg mcmuffin.

You can do worse. Surprising, actually.

Optygen capsules

really? I took those last year and saw no difference. in fact, after they released that study that showed
that men who took vitamins and got prostate cancer had a higher incidence of death than those who didn't take vitamins I pretty much flushed all supplements.

on topic: 3/4 cup oatmeal (the real kind) with fresh fruit, raisins and nuts.

Bowl of Raisin bran or granola with 2% or skim milk. Make pot of mixed batch of expresso, nicaraguan, and columbian coffee in a serving size of 4 cups of expresso (less caffeine because it's a mixed drink hah). Eat all granola or cereal and pour coffee into bowl which has the milk left in it. Delicious.

Then a banana or apple depending on what I have. Maybe half a cliff bar during the drive down to the race if a teammate has the munchies.

Belgium waffle with peanut butter and maple syrup. OJ, water, coffee to drink.

God I love sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits. Branman got mad at me for eating them before a TT so I stopped eating them before races. No other reason.

I'm hoping for the optygen placebo effect followed by premature death, it will simply put me out of my velo misery. Double benefit.

That extra $50 per month is killing me. I don't need optygen. I need EPO, HGH, steroids, and an altitude tent.

1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup TVP, a bunch of raw almonds, some raisins, cooked.
One grapefruit, maybe one orange.
Lots of coffee.

Maybe I ought to begin and end with a cigarette. I haven't touched a cigarette since I quit smoking four years ago until last night, when I took a couple of drags off a friend's cig while walking around after dinner. Gotta admit, that smoke was delicious.
