Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. i am an old school bmxer who wants to get back.i want a bike to use especially for dirt jumping but also for street and park.i am not sure which of these 2 options i should choose.
1)dk sixpack 2004 ;weight(33 lbs) ;price-330 $
2)eastern element ;weight(31 lbs) ;price-325 $
3)eastern jane ;weight(31 lbs) ;price-385$
4)eastern ace of spades ;weight(31 lbs) ;price-385$
i think i will get the dk since as an old schooler, i know it has always been a quality brand and i dont know much about new bike companys such as eastern and others. i think dk is a safer bet for me however the easterns seem lighter with almost the same kind of parts and weight saving is quite an issue for me since ive always used racing bikes and i dont want the change to a dirt-trial bike to be so dramatic.
how good is dk these days? how good is easter? or should i get a frame and build it up? (i dont want to spend more than 400$)
can anyone help me make up my mind?

ok... first off... get some cash... it might take a while but when your looking at a $350 complete it makes you think it can't be that good... if those are your choices then DEFINITELY go with the Jane... it is one of Easterns top line bikes... eastern makes good frame... once you get it though start upgradeing... anyways... the thing about DK is that they have some really bad components and i've ridden most of them... they have only one good bike which is the SOB... unfortunately it is not a complete and they don't make the frame anymore....... so with that said (if you haven't already) then pick up the Jane and get a job!!! just double that price and you have a pretty sweet ride!!!

ace of spades, or the jane. try otu some other companies as well like volume and stuff.
OH MAN, I was just flipping throught the 2005 dans comp magazine and found the 05 element for $255!!!!, the 06 is like 379 or something. i would have definely gotten the better element over my Haro mirra 540. i wish i could build a time machine and get the element...all it needs for me is front brakes...31 lbs vs my heavyass 540's 34lbs

First off, why drag up a two year old thread just to express buyer's regrets?
Also, 3 pounds is not a huge difference. Go ride up and down hills for an hour a day, it'll do you more good than getting a 3lb lighter bike.

Dk
eastern A.O.S. or jane any day. dk's are heavy and weak in my experience
i work at a shop that sells both. the jane and a.o.s. are definetly worth the extra money.
the dks i heard are more for dirt i think, although the cleveland is 32 lbs

Either the Jane or the Ace of Spades. Maybe you should check out the 2hip Playboi.

Take a look, you might like what you see.
i think he should get the 6 pack, its only 300 on danscomp. if he wants to save money, wait till december 06 or jan 07 to get the 06 models for cheap...

Go away. Don't bring up really old threads that have already been renewed once before when it shouldn't have... especially for a stupid point/opinion.
