I might be getting a job offer in Granbury. I currently live in Central Texas (Temple) about two hours away. Just wondering in general what the area is like and how the cycling scene is. I commute but would also like to do some trail riding (nothing hardcore).

If you move, bring your hill climbing legs with you.

I work in Godley, near Granbury. It's pretty rural - lots of farms, so there's no scene without going to Waco or up to Ft. Worth where I live. However, the cycling is fantastic so long as you stay off roads that are arteries for truckers servicing the barnett Shale. I do 200k rides regularly through that area. I can't speak to the trail riding, but it should be pretty good.

There are a lot of bed and breakfasts there. Why not spend a weekend and check out the town?

I live in Granbury but do not know much about trail riding. The closest trails I know of are in the Dinosaur Valley State Park. Road riding around here is very nice and commuting on your bike shouldn't be a problem. I have never had a problem on the local roads with folks and we have lots of great roads and several different groups of riders to choose from with rides Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu and Sat/Sun depending on the group. Yes, we do have hills that never seem to end but the views are worth it.
