Southeast - Scenic Rides in South Florida

I'm looking for some more scenic rides in the South Florida area. I live in Coral Springs, so I ride Parkland a lot as well as a1a, but I'm curious where else there is to ride that's a bit more rural and scenic. I've been to western Palm Beach county a few times and it looked nice out there. Maybe someone here rides around that area?

I can't speak for the trails in south Fla., but there are some listed for that area. There are some great converted railroad trails in Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Gainsville, etc., if you are willing to travel. I rode all of them, and they are great. You can go for 20 miles and never battle a 4-wheeler. The trail in Tampa has a huge over pass that takes you up and over miles of traffic. Most of the rest are quiet and scenic. good luck

You can ride around Lake Okeechobee. A lot of it is paved, but it is known to be hot and windy.

Now is a good time because its cool( :eek: ) and the sno-buzzards are gone.
In my little realm of existence in S.Fl a good ride might be to start at the
Blue Heron bridge on Singer Island, ride the Island where there is some fantastic
scenery and nice, wide lanes , continue northernly up Rt.1 to A1A and then do
Jupiter Island. Long enuff for a hot day, short enuff that you arent baked when
you get off. That would be a nice, friendly ride around here :)

I always liked Singer Island. Of course, I used to go up there when it was still a lot of empty property in the 70's and my brother and I used to go surf fishing or go up to the Juno Pier.

Thanks, I'll have to try that. I haven't been that far north on A1A yet, but I know it does get a bit more scenic and nice.

Been thinking of taking a trip south. The last time down in the home area, Lake Worth, it was not good circumstance, Mother passed away and my siblings and I were dealing with her house in between Hurricanes. That was one hell of a bad year. Air Force Beach still exist, or is it a condo? That is where my brother and I used to Surf Fish. Nothing better than catching fish and watching the nude chicks when your 13/14 years old. :p

Join us Sundays from A1A and commercial(one block east),at about 7:00am,we go north A1A 15-40-70-80 miles and you will see a lot of Ocean to your right.

Yeah the ride north on A1A starting around lighthouse point and going up to about woolbright is good, I think it's like around 40-50 miles... I never do the whole stretch but it's a lot of fun, good scenery for sure. I couldn't think of riding anything too far west. It's all about the road action out east. And the further north you go, the newer and smoother the roads are.

Going to the Keys and riding around would definitely be scenic. The Islamorada area particularly.
