Here are a few trail shots i took yesterday while riding elfin forest in escondido, ca. this trail is technical and involves miles of steep, rocky, rutted climbs. once you get to the rim you decend into and out of canyons, valleys and ridges, its almost always a technically challenging. the trail consists of a lollipop loop of single track, double track and fire roads.

when you get to the trailhead you are welcomed by a gentle flowing creek

you can just feel the crisp water trickling across the rocks

then you reach an ominous sign

the battle begins you against your mind

around every switchback it gets worse and worse by now your legs are exploding

getting close but your not there yet, some nice run off erosion prevention makes for some technical switchback climbing

your finally there now comes the fun part that comes from a very long climb DOWNHILL FUN!!!!!!! no wait not so fast

yeah right its friday at 10am i'm the only one on the trail. :D finally i'm on top of the world looking down at lake hodges, one of san diegos premier bass fishing lakes

i washed out 1 time on this run while i was bombing a down hill switchback section but overall it was a fun day. this is one of those trails i really think a FS rig makes a HUGE difference

absolutly right.. you get to decend the same sections you climbed to get back to your car. very steep, very rocky, very switchy, very fast, VERY FUN :D of course you have to keep it less than 15mph

yeah its a great climb, funny i now get just as much joy from a good technical climb as a do a good technical decent.

Cool! I'm still working on basic handling skills on such terrian. I have a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing the pics. Good stuff! :D
