Btw, does anyone know of a stop-frame animated film from the 1950's or 1960's that won a bunch of awards and had a similar moral story? I saw this on the internet about a year or so ago and don't remember what it is called.

Not that. It was live action involving two people building their "houses" out of lumber and a white picket fence and then I believe they ended up killing eachother. It was black and white I believe. Yep, I doubt anyone can pull that up with such a crappy description. Oh well.

When I read "stop-frame" film from the 50's or 60's it immediately made me think of the creepy classic film made from still photographs, La Jetée. Here's the complete film on YouTube:
