My wife use to work as a property manager for a company that owned a bunch of apartment buildings.
some doods broke into an apartment that she managed at 3am and the 2 residents had gotten home from the bars and were chilling and playing xbox or some ****. well the guys broke in and were beating on the residents and robbing them at gunpoint. well one of the residents grabbed a katana and chopped off 2 of the guys fingers(the guy with the gun). the robbers fled, the police matched up the fingers with the robber at the hospital and hauled his *** to jail(after he was treated).
true story. it happened about 2 years ago.
anyone else have a katana story?

HAHA that was the best story ever!
Police shot and killed a sword-wielding man described by relatives as schizophrenic after he slashed and killed two former co-workers and wounded three other people at a supermarket where he used to bag groceries.

This is horrible, happened across the bridge in Superior, WI.
Nov. 2--Twelve jurors found Jason Richard Borelli guilty of first-degree intentional homicide within 90 minutes after they began deliberating at noon today. "You are not to search for doubt," Douglas County Circuit Court Judge Michael Lucci told the jurors. "You are to search for the truth." Borelli, 32, Superior, faced the charge for the Jan. 7 stabbing death of Leah Gustafson in her apartment at 1910 John Ave. She was found dying in her apartment, a samurai sword believed by police to be the murder weapon beside her. A trail of evidence led officers across the street to Borelli's residence, 1901 John Ave.

I had an employee who was crazy into Swords, she had a whole room in her house dedicated to them. Here is a "letter opener" she gave me for Christmas. I tell you when I fired her and she came to get her final check I was a bit scared. Thank god I don't own a Post Office!

about 3 weekends ago I saw a guy on a sunny afternoon driving a flat black spraypainted crotch rocket.
For head protection he had a Samurai helmet including the face mask with burly horse hair mustache.

I definitely saw a sword on his back. He was hauling ass as well down a busy street(Hawthorne).
I'll be honest, I thought he was kinda cool and wanted to join his gang.
I'm pretty sure he was one of the guys that does Itto-Ryu style kendo in the park at Laurelwood every Sunday.
Note: Do not break into their houses with anything short of an assault rifle.

Some things break my geek barrier, and even though my wife will berate me for thinking it's anything other than pure ******baggery I still love.
This guy rockin the Samurai fare was one of them.
Reminded me of Neil Stephenson's "Snowcrash".
