I cannot seem to get the selection of Avitars to come up when I am updating my profile....Any suggestions? I select the box (yes to avitars) then hit go, and NOTHING....What am I doing wrong?

I've not tried this but I think if you download one of the existing ones then you can upload it as your own.
You are correct. There is some problem in choosing from their list. You have to make your own.

Use something like Irfanview to resize the picture.
