Does anyone have any suggestions for sites for deals on Pearl, Castelli and other top of the line clothing for tall men? I have tried buying from E-bay with poor results...Not cheap, but I HATE paying retail !

I have the same problem. One thing you have to realize is that regular clothing size and cycling sizes are two different things. I have yet to find anywhere that I can buy jerseys because I have a 53 inch chest. When comes to shorts I have a lot more luck. Check out www.qbike.com they are a cycling search engine where if you look under apparel you should be able to check brands and prices at a number of online shops simultaneously.

Hi,
try Performance shorts. Their elite short is very good, and comes in really big sizes. Shirts are a little easier. Performance and Nashbar have a selection. My favorite of all of them is a North Face long sleeve jersey that is thin for a sweater but heavier than a jersey. It costs about $65 but comes in 2X and is wonderful.

Essentially, you can find deals off season--in December, January, February for summer jerseys, June, July, and August for winter jerseys. I've bought from Colorado Cyclist (http://www.coloradocyclist.com), Excel Sports (http://www.excelsports.com), Sierra Trading Post (http://www.sierratradingpost.com), Bike Nashbar (http://www.nashbar.com), to name a few. If you're looking for a good price, try not to be in a hurry. Remember, too, that XXL in some brands is the same as XL in other brands and even L in others. Look for sizing charts either at the on-line store or the manufacturer's site.
