Hi Guys.

Im looking to get into road biking. Im looking for entry level, or maybe just a bit above. I don't need a hardcore bike, but I dont want cheap.
The area I live in has nice country roads, and offroad paths (not serious hilly terrain, more a hardpacked dirt, etc).
Im not looking to race, or to go as fast as possible, and being comfortable is a plus.

So a cross bike seems like the perfect soultion.

I've found a used Ridley Crosswind that I like. It has Ultegra group, and is in good condition.

What do people think of Ridley bikes?
What do you think of the Crosswind?
Any other bikes similar to this that you would reccomend instead?

Ridley's fit VERY strange (mine had a 58 seat tube, and a 55 top tube). I raced one for a season and moved on.

shorter top tube = slightly longer stem = more weight over the front wheel = slightly more control

Don't forget the VERY high bottom bracket. My bike was HUGE, and it still felt small in the tt. I know people who love them. I was luke warm at best.

I got the CrossBow, pretty much 105, a few months ago & like it very much. Feels quite a bit faster than my old Trek X01. I haven't been offroading with it yet but do look forward to it & can't wait till cross season rolls around!
Just some silly background info, I am the complete opposite of hardcore. I am there at the races but am pretty much the least competitive of the bunch or defender of the Laterne Rouge.
