It looks like I'll be spending the rest of my undergrad days in Amherst, MA. As some of you may recall, I tried and failed to get into Hampshire college last year. Well, I believed then and I believe now that Hampshire is the best fitting school for me. I've been at UNH since fall, keeping my GPA high, and I have just been accepted to Hampshire :D
So....any thoughts on the the town of Amherst? Things to do nearby, etc?
I live in Amherst. There is a lot of great cycling to be had here and up in Franklin County. It is a nice place to live.

You can watch sturgeon migrate in the Connecticut River at Turners Falls.
I live in Amherst. Go to UMASS.
There's a lot of great riding around here whether you like on-road or off-road.
There's always tons of events and activities through the five colleges so you'll never be bored (unless you like the big cities and dance clubs, etc.).
Pretty simple living. I like it.

The 5 dollar consortium is something that really attracted me to Hampshire. Besides the ultra progressive attitude Hampshire has, there is no shortage of opportunity! Seems like Amherst is a college town, like Durham NH. How large is Amherst anyways?

It sounds like I'll be spending the rest of my undergrad days in a great area. Plus, Hampshire is my first pick for schools; life will be good :)

It even sounds like you might be able to organize a BF ride. :)
