I am currently looking to buy a new bike. I almost bought a Diamondback Insight 3 for 675 at the shop near me today. I was just wondering if anybody knows of a better hybrid bike for the price, maybe something a little bit cheaper but not more expensive. I would be using it mostly for commuting (10 miles) but longer rides during weekends (30+ miles).

You might post in the commuting section but do a search first for commuter bikes recommended. Any bike can be a commuter bike as long as you ride it. Of course it's more fun if you actually feel comfortable on it and it is sized for you. If you want to do longer rides you might ask about drop bars or other types that offer lots of hand positions.
