Nagasawas are my latest obsession.

seriously, i look at pictures of them online like it's porn...last night i had three browser tabs open, all to fullscreen pictures of different track bikes, or the archive bikes on the bikeworks site. anyway...

At the shop Freewheels, on Vallencia in SF, in the window. it could not have been more blatant:

GOLD Nagasawa frame (56 or 58cm, too tall for me, but still, beautiful)
NJS suzue promax hubs, laced to some sun rims
sugino 75 cranks
nitto bars/stem
i think they had the nitto aero seatpost on it as well.

i asked about the price, knowing that i'd never be able to afford it, and that it was too big for me. the guy behind the counter took a look at it and said $3800. i said "that's my dream bike." we both laughed and he said "yeah, it's a classic."

my girlfriend could hardly tear me away from the window as we walked out of the shop.

a track bike at a shop called freewheels? that's a good one.

nagasawas are nice. as best as i know the smallest they come is something like a 53, which is still too big for me.

yeah, when I go into BikeWorks I just glaze over and stare at the nagasawa for a while. Beautiful bikes.

$2395 for a Nagasawa Keirin bike.
I've heard that "retired" Keirin bikes are available
in Japan but have never seen anything about that.
Maybe check around Velodromes for used frames for
sale?

here's some track stuff on yahoo japan: http://search4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/search/auc?p=%A5%D4%A5%B9%A5%C8&auccat=26222&alocale=0jp&acc=jp

now, all you need to do is get a yahoo japan proxy account at one of these sites: www.rinkya.com, www.celga.com, or www.animechaos.com
