Are you looking for recommendations for what bike to get? I'm not an athena but i have heard that the specialized hard rock is the clyde favourite although it might not be the same for the athenas out there. 5'6" isn't short is it? I know plenty of women who'd love to be that tall;-) and men too!:D

Hi,

I'm not that heavy, but then I'm not that tall either!;)
I'm 5'2" and over 200lb. Haven't cycled since my early teens (that was over 35 years ago on a bike with no gears).
Bought a bike (Marin Juniper Trail) just before the start of winter (very silly time to start!), but now the weather is slowly improving it is truly time for me to start in earnest. I'm scared and excited in equal measure. Have been out for a few 3-4 mile runs, up and down hills, trying to remember to keep pedalling when changing gear.:o

I guess what I'm saying is you are not alone!:D
